Early indications show that A-level results achieved by students in Essex have improved across all key measures.More than 4,000 students were entered into the exams in the county's state schools and initial results show that of all the grades awarded, 78.3 per cent were A*-C and almost 99 per cent were A*- E.Of these indicative results, 26.5 per cent gained A*-A grades, compared to national figures of 25.9 per cent.
