A blue plaque commemorating a man described as "Bishop's Stortford's champion" has been unveiled.The memorial to Michael Hurford, the first president of the town's civic federation, was revealed on the wall of the Lemon Tree in Water Lane by his widow Katharine and wider family.The restaurant, a listed building, was a favourite of the campaigner, who died in September 2012 from a brain tumour.
